The old Arby’s restaurant in the Milwaukee Road business corridor will have a new tenant later this summer.
National chain restaurant Noodles and Company will be moving into the building at 2900 Milwaukee Road. The building has been vacant since last July when Arby’s moved to its new location nearby.
“I’m really excited to see another national chain choose Beloit,” said Joel Patch, partner at Commercial Property Group, who brokered the deal.
Patch said the deal had been in the works for the last year and finally closed on Wednesday. Arby’s moved to the 9,000-square-foot retail center in 2014, vacating the free-standing property it had occupied.
There is currently no information on how many jobs the opening would create.
The plan, Patch said, is to do some exterior work which will look similar to the business center and gut the inside. The construction work is being done by Corporate Contractor Inc. (CCI) and is likely to begin next week.
Patch said his kids were really excited for the new place to grub.
“I often ask them ‘what do you want to see?’ My kids were really excited about Noodles and Company,” he said.
Noodles and Company is a Colorado-based restaurant specializing in “fast-casual” dining. The restaurant features sandwiches, salads, soups and of course noodles.
In the Stateline Area there are Noodles and Company restaurants in Janesville, Machesney Park and Rockford.
The restaurant is slated to open in late summer.
